Massiv musikkfest i Oslo
June 8, 2009
Festivalmagasinets fotograf Martha Lewicka tok runden i Oslo sentrum lørdag og dokumenterte musikkfesten i bilder. Dette er den første gangen hun som fotograf er blitt ønsket lykke til av sikkerhetsvaktene!

MusikkFest in Oslo, previously Musikkens dag, took over Oslo on Saturday, 6th June, 2009.
30 stages around city filled Norway’s capital with music for the whole day.
Since the weather was quite good, all places were pretty crowded, though you could still find a bit of place to sit, for example at Pilestredet. Danielle performing at Pilestredet/Blitz:
All stages placed a bit more centrally, e.g. Rådhusplasses were full of people, and it was hard to find a spot to sit:
At Christiania Torv was hard to find empty spot especially during ILA AUTO. Signe Marie Rustad m/band wasn’t so lucky with the weather, a bit of rain scared quite a few people, but they came back to see Rex Rudi.
Rex Rudi at Christiania Torv:
Just about the same time at Kontraskjæret you could enjoy Cocktail Slippers rocking all the people that still have strength to enjoy even more music:
MusikkFest is all about filling city spaces with music, spaces that normally are almost deserted, and the scene at Rosenkrantzgate was a perfect example:
More towards the end of MusikkFest you could see more and more thrash all over the city, even the “Pimp our city” action didn’t help much:
But then again this day was about music and not cleaning, so I guess all the things people left behind must be a sign of fun they had.
What was the only disadvantage of Musikk Fest for me was the sound, at some of the stages it was hardly bearable for a bit more experienced listener. But that was not the case at C J Hambros Plass v/ Herr Nilsen, where both the sound and bands selection had been excellent.
Dyslectic Poets at C J Hambros Plass:
At the back garden at Garage, you could see artists taking over the environment, and with the heavy sounds of Manhattan Skyline, you could feel all the buildings shaking:
The loudest stage of the day was definitely Kuba, with its dose of metal music. The day ended they with a blast from She Said Destroy:
Generally it was awesome music day, but I preferred it a bit more 2 years ago where they were more stages placed centrally, so it was easy to move between them.
There were so many places that screamed for a stage there, but I guess it is not easy to organize such event, so I am glad that it is still continued.
And I must admit it was the first event I had been where security wished me luck with taking pictures, and it happened more that once!
